My wife and I love dining at a popular local restaurant. Every time we go, the food is fantastic, the service is impeccable, and the ambiance perfect. No matter what day of the year, it’s always the same.

What I love most about the restaurant is the teamwork. No matter who is your designated server, every one of the people working there will attend to you. Every server in the restaurant does everything their server would do for them.

It’s impressive watching this coordinated dance of professionalism. Never once have I ever heard a server say, “ask your server. ” Rather, the entire team works together for each other to meet the higher goal of the company, which is excellent customer service and experience.

This story reminds me that servant leadership focuses on a leader’s effective stewardship of a group’s resources and how to serve others while achieving the goals of the business or organization. No one modeled servant leadership better than Jesus and, as such, are called to do the same.
