As the plane picked up speed on the runway, the pilot began to pull back on the yolk. In a matter of seconds, we were airborne. In less than a minute, we were at 1,000 feet. As I looked at the city below, all at once, I could see people playing on the beach, boats cutting across the ocean, and cars coasting through the streets.

From that altitude, I could see it all. At that moment, it occurred to me that if I could see all this happening from just 1,000 feet, imagine what God could see with a universal perspective. I then felt assured knowing God sees it all and, more importantly, also knows all.

It times of turbulence, we get so focused on what’s in front of us; we forget God is watching over us. It’s comforting to know he promised never to leave us. He fulfills this promise by providing a comforter, assuring us we are never alone.
