Our Core Beliefs
We apply the truths of Scripture and live according to the example set by Jesus Christ. And while our mission allows for freedom of interpretation and expression in many areas of life, we believe in the following nine core beliefs:
- The Bible
We believe with complete confidence in God’s inerrant Word. We treasure its truths, and we respect its reproofs. - God the Father
We acknowledge the Creator-God as our heavenly Father, infinitely perfect and intimately acquainted with all our ways. Although there is one eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, holy, just, loving, true, and unchangeable God, there are three divine persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in power but distinct in roles. - The Lord Jesus Christ
We claim Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity, as our Lord—the very God who came in human flesh and undiminished deity with true humanity—the object of our worship and the subject of our praise. - The Holy Spirit
We recognize the Holy Spirit as the third member of the Godhead who actively works in us to guide, convince, comfort and empower us to accomplish His will. - The Depravity of Humanity
We confess that Adam’s fall into sin left humanity without the hope of heaven apart from the ultimate sacrifice made possible by the Savior’s substitutionary death and miraculous resurrection. - Salvation
We believe the offer of salvation is God’s love-gift to all made possible only by his grace and mercy. When someone believes by faith that Christ died for their sins and then rose from the dead, they are forgiven of all sins and declared righteous. Those who accept this good news by faith, not by works, become new creatures in Christ. This then initiates the life-long process of sanctification through the Spirit. - The Return of Christ
We anticipate our Lord’s promised return, which could occur at any moment, and we prepare in anticipation of this triumphant return and eternity. - The Body of Christ
We believe in the universal body of Christ, over which He rules as Head, and regardless of denomination, all true believers are spiritually baptized by the Holy Spirit into Christ’s body and are therefore spiritually united with Him and with one another. - The Family of God
Although we are all part of the “greater Church,” we congregate in the local church for mutual encouragement, spiritual growth, proclaiming God’s truth, and representing our faith, hope, and love to the world. To do this, we support our local church’s mission to collectively reach others through evangelism, disciple-making, financial support, and volunteering.
