How To Find Ultimate Fulfillment In Your Life
My wife and I love all-inclusive beach resorts because, as the name states, everything is included. We love these resorts because we never have to worry about anything other than what we’ll wear that day. From the moment one arrives, they welcome you with a refreshing drink and start catering to your every desire.
The all-inclusive concept is to keep you satiated and entertained all day. You can walk up to any restaurant or dining venue on the property whenever you want food. In addition, they never limit how much you can eat or consume. There are also numerous activities throughout the day to keep you entertained.
The entertainment and dining options also continue well into the night as they provide shows, game nights, dancing, and more. They even offer childcare services so the parents can run off and enjoy themselves. These resort’s underlying approach to customer satisfaction is never to say “no” and for their customer’s every desire to be fulfilled.
Although this is an excellent way to vacation and “unwind,” it should not be our approach to our spiritual relationship with God. I occasionally find myself too focused on asking God for things to satisfy my desires or wants solely. As a result, I erroneously view God as my concierge when nothing could be further from the truth.
Yes, God does bless us and wants us to enjoy His blessings. However, He’s more about our spiritual state than our physical comfort and wants us to grow into the likeness of Christ. If sometimes that means saying “no,” then we must trust this is best for us.
For this reason, the way we find ultimate fulfillment is knowing He’s working in us to make us more Christlike and not only on the material things he can provide.
