Yesterday I was visiting a client’s office and was working on some label designs for them. As I clicked away on the computer, a young man greeted me. “You’re Marcos, right?” he asked. “Carlos,” I replied. “Yes, yes, you’ve told me that before.”

He then started to talk about his job, and out of nowhere stated that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior. He then asked me if I was a Christian. “Indeed, brother,” I replied. Cesar then started to give me his testimony and excitement of accepting Christ as his Saviour a little less than a year ago.

We discussed his commitment, everything he’s learning, his amazement of God’s grace, and how he wants to share this good news with everyone. Ceasar also said that some people told him he’s too “fanatical” for the choices he’s making to live a holy life.

“Brother, I wish more Christians had the conviction you have,” I told him. I then encouraged him to continue his passionate pursuit of God and make the spiritual disciplines of reading, praying, and meditating on God’s an everyday priority.

Cesar’s story is a reminder to me and other seasoned Christians to never forget our first love. To continually remind ourselves how Christ saved us from ourselves and eternal death by paying the ultimate price when we didn’t, nor still deserve it.

May we never lose or take for granted the wonderful gift of salvation and be eternally grateful for his grace.
Amen!
