Early this morning as I was heading out for a quick run I found my 8 year-old son reading a book on the couch. This is unusual because it was 6:30 am. Let me further elaborate and say the day before he had a terrible experience at run club.

It seemed he was dehydrated and didn’t realize until it was too late. Apparently he had run too hard to fast and threw up. In addition to this, he got cold, felt weak in the legs and then got a headache.

He was hit so hard by this that when he came home, he had some water, took some medicine and fell asleep early. He didn’t even bother to eat. As I was heading out this morning he stopped me and asked “Where are you going?” “For a run.” I responded. “Can I go with you?” he asked.

After suiting up and lacing on his shoes we headed out together and did an easy two miles. I was so proud of him because despite his setback the day before, he got right back up into the race.

FX3 Challenge:

Pray:

Read and meditate on 1 Corinthians 9:24-27. What are these verses saying to you?

Pray:

What do you get up for everyday and run after? What do you hope to accomplish if you “win”?

Meditate / Make It Real:

How will you react when you stumble and fall? What should you be running to win?
